QUEEN STREET SUBWAY

Dufferin Street, South of Queen Street, Toronto I The 'subway', or bridge, was originally built in 1897 by the then independent Village of Parkdale. The City of Toronto is now looking to replace the bridge in an effort to eliminate the Dufferin 'jog'.

What is the 'Dufferin Jog'? And what does the bridge go over?

The bridge carries the railway tracks over Queen Street West. Since it crosses at a diagonal, Dufferin Street has to "jog" west to avoid it.
