ENERGUIDE
90 Walnut Street, Toronto I Canada's minority Conservative government, elected last year, follows the typical neo-conservative view on the environment; global warming is not proven, Kyoto is not a good idea, and nothing can been done to harm the oil industry. Shortly after being elected, the government cancelled EnerGuide, a popular $500 million program, which helped people retrofit their homes to improve energy efficiency. Over the course of the past year they realized that these views were not shared by the majority of Canadians. The program has been cynically renamed the ecoEnergy Retrofit Program and was re-instated today.
